CRUSH: Pop O' Color Pillows

I did it.

I did what I was contemplating doing in this post.

I submitted to my dragon desires.

The flow of this fabric has captivated me from the beginning... but, then to offer it in a "Smoke" color way.... SOLD!

I knew I just HAD to have a pair.

Pillows by Katie Corrigan from Pop O' Color on Etsy

I was SO thrilled to receive my Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon [in Smoke] pillows from Pop O' Color recently. So thrilled and in love am I... that I ordered another pair from Katie!

Oh yes... I did it again!

She has such a fabulous collection of fabrics to choose from, it doesn't stop with my little dragon obsession. And you do know that pillows pack a powerful punch... right?!

Check out her Etsy shop here, it's so easy to place an order... hint hint...

CRUSH: Parker Kennedy Living

Even though my home's color palette is that of neutral tones as seen here, I LOVE color in design.

I tried bold colors in our space during the first year of us living here. I used teal, yellow, blue, and reds. I enjoyed the vignettes in my home, but we found that they were in constant battle over our view. Seeing how we have floor to ceiling windows on one entire side of our home overlooking downtown Dallas.... we realized that we were never going to win the battle. I had to let the view be the star of the decorative design of our home. Therefore, I started my shift towards a neutral color scheme throughout our space. Embellishing it with crystal, gold, unique and shiny objects to add interest. This way our eyes and spirits were calmed and soothed within the walls of the home, but once the eyes extended past the windows and into the view of downtown, they could get lost in all the activity and bussel.

All that being said.... I CAN NOT starve myself from color. I have a LOVE... and OBSESSION with color. And I get to fulfill my cravings through pretty stationary, accessories to fill my office, jewelry, and.... through instagram. Yep, instagram.

I started following Parker Kenedy Living awhile ago. I realized that I have actually admired their work for quite some time and just didn't know who was behind it.

COLOR: Nairobi Blue

Lupita Nyong'o in a vision of blue.... Nairobi Blue.

There is so much to be inspired about with this woman.
But, let's just stick with the color she brought into the spotlight.

A soft pastel blue she refers to as Nairobi Blue.

Lovin' it!

Check out this wallpaper from Thibaut

Simply GORGEOUS!
There are other color choices as well... but,
the print... the boldness... the color!

What's not to like about this color?

It is so soothing.... in interiors and fashion!

How about this necklace for a Nairobi Blue statement?!

REVAMPED: Dorothy Draper Espana Chest

Lacquered High Gloss Dove White...

It is HEAVEN to me!

Made this little Craigslist score.... a GLAMOROUS TREASURE!

I had the dresser revamped by Again and Again here in Dallas.
They are just FABULOUS when it comes to glamorous vintage finds and pretty...pretty... pieces.
They are also... just FABULOUS.... when it comes to revamping said finds and pieces.

The new look goes quite well with my vintage brass console table.

All of this gold is making me so happy!

The large lip print was a Christmas gift from my hubby and kiddo.
It's from Jen Ramos at MadeByGirl... I have been eyeing it for quite some time and they surprised me at Christmas! What sweethearts!

It is a framed giclee print from an original watercolor designed by Jessica Rowe.
You can order the print here.

I am SO happy I did this.
It's been over a year since I've had this piece. I can't believe I waited so long to get this done.
Have I mentioned that this makes me SO happy?!?!?

Have you had anything revamped or lacquered lately... or have you put it off like me?

Pretty Golden Gifts

Are you one to brave the Black Friday crowds?

Me?

Not so much.

I did brave the flea market crowd, though.... on Black Friday.
It really wasn't much of a crowd... but, I did do a lot of walking and that helped burn some extra calories which I consumed on Thanksgiving Day.

Anyway, I have been crushing on gold since before gold was really "back in"... but, now that it is.... it's EVERYWHERE and that makes my heart very very happy!

So, if you have someone on your shopping list like me, here are a few things I put together as a pretty golden gift list:

1 | 2 | 3 | 4
And the flatware below is DEFINITELY on my Wish List.
[Honey.... hint hint.... honey.]

West Elm Rose Gold Flatware

My love for gold has been prominently appearing in some of my new artwork.
Like this large abstract below.
I am currently working on a commissioned piece in a pink colorway with gold... LOVE IT!

Electric Youth | Acrylic on 36" x 36" Canvas | Available

Now off to burn more calories.... decorating the house for Christmas!
Can't wait to share pics with you in the weeks to come.
There will be a lot of silver, red... and of course, GOLD on display.

Happy Weekend, friends!

I happened to stumble upon Emily McDowell via Pinterest.

CRUSH: Greek Key Pillows

I have been working on updating the bedding in our Master Bedroom... and...

ETSY came through again!

In the form of a wonderful pillow cover provider.

Check out Tara Hale at Fabricate on Etsy.

I LOVE her large selections of Greek Key Pillows!

Pillow Covers by Tara Hale of Fabricate on Etsy

Tara does custom orders, too!

That's how it started for me. I like the look of one of her pillow covers, but it wasn't the size I was needing. But, she quickly and wonderfully set me up with the pillow cover choice and size that was perfect for our bed!

And I think it worked out SIMPLY DIVINE!

I originally ordered only 2 pillow covers. But, I loved the look SO much.... and thought it would be fantastic to make it even bolder by adding a 3rd Black and White Greek Key Pillow....

So, I did!

I ordered a 3rd from Fabricate!

I will share the rest of my bedding update later this week.

I adore the ability to custom order items and I have found that Etsy has really turned into a hot spot for me to order custom pillows.... see another one of my custom orders in this post.

CRUSH: Spotted Fabric and Things

Les Touches fabric by Brunschwig and Fils in black in white is my favorite!

I know I might be a little late to the party, seeing how there are a load of DIY versions on Pinterest...
But, it's really like I am STILL in love with it.
It's nothing new to me.... it had me at "Hello".

Even with their other color options... it's just so classy and pretty timeless to me.
But, the black is still my favorite.

Or this artwork from MadeByGirl!

This has got me thinking about doing my own DIY version in either a print, wallcovering or fabric!
Have you done a DIY version?

How 'bout it --- Does this look appeal to you?

CRUSH: Sarah Briggs Jewelry

I have just increased my physical stock in jewelry this weekend.

Thankfully... my favorite jewelry designer, Sarah Briggs, was at the Dallas Contemporary! I loaded up on her pieces.

Seriously.

Loaded up!

Here is a shot of my newly collected stash.

Some vintage pieces utilized with modern pieces and some completely modern pieces.

I LOVE this stuff!

As you can see in EXHIBIT A and B.
Two recent photo shoots I've done for projects.

Seriously, this girl is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

And... she is SUCH a sweetheart.... with an adorable baby girl and wonderful husband. I love visiting with her every time I add to my collection. And my dear hubby has actually joined in on the fun and ordered from her --- for a Valentine's Day gift surprise!

Check out her stuff on Etsy and Facebook.

Her pieces are not only creative and GORGEOUS... but, for ladies like me who have had their ears pierced since they were 3 months old {proof I'm Latina}... they are light weight! So, I can wear large beautiful earrings that won't tear my earlobes... PERFECTION!
